New Head Coach Appointment

Exmouth Swimming and Life Saving Society are delighted that David Hill has been appointed as the new Head Coach for the Club. David will succeed Jerry Wassall, who is retiring from his position at the end of June.

Having recently retired from competing at elite level, David is returning to the club, where his swimming career first began. In 2004, he was the youngest member of the GB Para-Olympic team at the Athens games, and competed at international level in para-swimming team for over a decade. David later transferred to triathlon and most recently represented Team GB at the Rio Para-Olympics last year, achieving a top 10 finish. Outside of competing, David has also been involved with the mentoring of young athletes, and has used his experience to inspire others.

David will start with the club on 17 July, with Julie Lang stepping up to lead the training sessions for the first couple of weeks of July.

The Club wishes Jerry all the best in his retirement from club swimming, a report on his pool party send off on 2nd July will be forthcoming.
