Mini League Round 3 & Arena Rounds 1 & 2 2014

After a long wait Exmouth Swimming & Life Saving Society have finally won the East Devon Mini League.

This event is swum over 3 rounds with sprints and relays making up the galas. After 3 consistent galas of good swimming the cup was handed over to Exmouth. The final results were as follows:

1st Exmouth 572, 2nd Torquay 552, 3rd Newton Abbot 493, 4th Sid Vale 395, 5th Exeter 365, 6th Dawlish 336.

Building on from this success was the start of this year’s national Arena League which started off with Exmouth being promoted to division 2.  Exmouth swam their first round at Bodmin and finished in 5th place ahead of Devonport Royal.

1st Penzance 214; 2nd Caradon 195; 3rd Tavistock 192; 4th Seagulls B 160;   5th Exmouth 138; 6th Devonport Royal 131.

Exmouth were 13th out of 18 in our division which is a great start after just being promoted to division 2.  12 pbs were achieved and Jack Moss broke the 100m freestyle club record.

Next up was a trip to Dorchester against Trowbridge, Cirencester, Tavistock, Street and Ilfracombe. This was a sterner test as this round was seeded and Exmouth went in as a 5thseeds. This proved to be correct as 5th place was the final position with Trowbridge winning their second gala out of 2 so far.

1st Trowbridge 249; 2nd Cirencester 237; 3rd Street 182; 4th Tavistock 169; 5th Exmouth 113; 6th Ilfracombe 92.

With one gala to go in December it has been a successful event so far after being promoted to Div 2 this year.
