Exmouth Swimmers at Devon Masters & Seniors meet

On Sunday 1st July, Mark Ashton, Ian Lang and Bill Letch swam in the Devon Masters competition at Plymouth Life Centre. The three masters swimmers were joined by Clara Woodhead swimming in the 16-18 senior competition. This was a busy and fast pace meet with particularly Ian and Clara only getting a few heats rest between their races. All four swimmers had some good swims.

Returning to Plymouth for the third weekend in a row, Clara swam to some personal best times. In the 50m breaststroke she took silver in a personal best time of 38.78 seconds, and took a second breaststroke medal by winning the 100metres in a time of 1:26.31. There was also a pb for Clara in the 100IM and a bronze medal in the 100metres butterfly.

Ian swam his quickest times in recent years in the 100m and 200m freestyle. Mark concentrated on the swim events and narrowly beat Ian in the 50m freestyle. Bill focused on events he needed to complete his masters decathlon and swam the 50m backstroke, 100m backstroke and 200m freestyle. Thanks to Sarah Woodhead who acted as team manager and made sure we made the quick turnarounds for their races and to Jane Easton who was timekeeping at this event.
