2016 Presentation Evening
Exmouth Swimming and Life Saving Society held their annual Presentation evening on Thursday 28th January at Withycombe Rugby Club. The president of the ASA John Bird and his wife Angela attended the evening with the president presenting many of the trophies.
Swimmers and volunteers of all ages from 5 to 75 were presented with trophies for various achievements throughout 2015 in the pool, open water, or for volunteering their time to help run the club.
The final surprise award of the night was a life membership presented to Jane Easton. Jane has volunteered her time with our competitive and development squad and main committee in a variety of roles for a number of years and continues to volunteer a great deal of time several years after her son stopped swimming competitively. Jane is currently the section chair person, club training coordinator, is heavily involved in gaining the club’s Swim21 and Clubmark status, and also organises and/or officiates at galas that our squads compete in. Without people like Jane and our other volunteers we would not be able to continue to provide swimming to the local community.
The society would like to congratulate all our winners from 2015 and thank the president and his wife for spending their time attending our presentation evening.
