Exmouth Swimming Club was founded in 1893 and was formally known as Exmouth Swimming & Life Saving Society.
Lessons and Water Polo were seasonally taught in Exmouth Docks until The Club moved to the saltwater pool on Exmouth sea front when it opened in 1932. On the site that now houses The Ocean building on Exmouth Sea front, the pool used sea water. It was designed for international competitions and measured just over 50 yards in length and 20 yards wide (45.7m x 18.2m).
The Club moved to its current base at Exmouth Leisure Centre when the pool was built in 1985 and most recently updated its name and logo in 2024.
