WOW! What a fantastic Celebration Gala held on Sunday 26th June 2022 in honour of the Queens Platinum Jubilee!
A message from our Chairman
Hello all, I would like to formally Congratulate and thank our swimmers and volunteers for all their hard work organising, running and of course swimming in our Jubilee Gala.
It was fantastic to see various members from all three of our sections: Learn to Swim (LTS), Competitive and Development (C and D) and Masters.
I had great pleasure watching the events, and to hear the encouragement given to all was amazing, seeing the joy and enthusiasm was very special indeed.
The level of organisation and running of a gala can take a lot of time and it’s with extra thanks to Jane Easton and David Hill for as always going that extra mile that certainly made the event extra special.
The ability of our helpers, teachers, coaches, and volunteers to all pull together for a common cause is inspiring by itself, without you, there is no ES&LSS and so a massive THANK YOU to you all.
It was made even better because we had the honour of Rosettes and Medals being awarded by our very own President and first lady, Ron & Pam Snowshall
In addition, it was also pleasing to get such positive feedback from you and to hear your stories about how inspired the younger swimmers became after watching the other races, this was exactly one of our main reasons for the event. To give them (and families) a better insight to the Society at large. To see what it is they are working towards
The main Committee of ES&LSS (Management Committee) thought it would be very nice if we presented a commemorative medal to each member, celebrating our Queens 70th Jubilee. We started this process on Sunday, you will be able to collect yours when you next attend your normal session.
Although this particular Gala was in celebration of the Queens Platinum Jubilee, we are aiming to hold this type of Gala again on a regular basis so if you weren’t able to attend there will be more opportunities.
Once again thank you and congratulations to our wonderful swimmers.
Kindest regards to all.
Martin Pashley
Chairman ES&LSS

Congratulations to our team of 4 swimmers who travelled to Trinity School in Teignmouth for the
Dawlish Ribbon Gala; and ribbons they won! Head Coach David said “Fantastic to see the level of effort some of our youngest eligible competitors are bringing along with a very high showcase of their technical ability. I was proud to see some of our swimmers building through their races, demonstrating their tactical strength and overall fitness to finish strong and the will to race!”
Well done Exmouth!

Exmouth Swimming and Life Saving Masters swimmer Stefan Cuschieri took part in a local competition in his home county near Coventry at the West Midlands Masters Event.

The event on Saturday 8th Oct saw Cuschieri compete in the 400m F/C & 200m Individual Medley. He said “I felt quite fresh in the 400m, I felt like I paced it well and was pleased with a finishing time of 5mins 23seconds, considering my current fitness. In the 200m IM, I went out too hard in the Butterfly and ran out of gas but lesson learnt! It’s just good to be back racing and representing Exmouth Masters”.
