On April 29th we had four swimmers travel to Weston-Super-Mare to compete in the middle distance Western Counties . Adam Tapp, Olly White, Bill Letch and Ian Lang all represented the club. Each swimmer pinpointed an event in which they wanted to race well in. Adam targeted the 200metres freestyle and swam to win the age group in a club record time with Lang completing a one two in the age group. Lang and Tapp also reversed paces to complete a one two finish in the 400 freestyle with Lang finishing just outside his PB to take the race on the finish. Olly had an impressive swim in the 200 IM completing the swim in a personal best time of 2.22. Finally Bill recorded one of the most impressive swims of the meet to claim gold in the 200 metres Fly in a time of 3,04.59, a time that is 6th on the world all time list for the 65-69 age group and places Bill second in the current world rankings. |
