The day after the 2-way relay Exmouth entered four swimmers in the individual  five and a quarter mile swim.  Caroline Ball, Ian Lang and Mark Westaway, all swimming for the second time in two days, were joined at the start by channel swimmer Jenny Potter.

Ball, Lang, and Potter would be swimming the lake freestyle whilst Westaway would be swimming in only his second breaststroke open water championship.

The swim started at approximately 1210 hrs with swimmers jostling for position to swim around the headland and pick up their escort craft.

Ball, swimming the lake for the first time, swam to an impressive third place in the ladies championship.

Lang swimming the lake for the second consecutive year swam to a credible 10th place in the men’s championship, beating his time last year by 3 seconds.

Westaway was the next Exmouth swimmer to finish; finishing closely behind the winner of the Breaststroke competition to add a silver medal to the bronze he won in the freestyle a couple of years ago.

Potter swam an impressive time to complete a successful weekend of swimming for the Exmouth team.
