Exmouth Swimming and Life Saving Society’s Master’s squad followed up their recent success at the Royal Navy Masters Meet at Millfield by putting in another strong performance at Gloucester Masters Swimming Club’s annual masters meet.

Stuart Baker joined Tara Dudley, Bill Letch, Sam Lander, Ian Lang, Andy Pratt, Adam Tapp, and Olly White, who had all competed two weeks earlier, to travel to Gloucester.  The squad had a good meet with a number of impressive swims; Bill Letch again setting the standard with a British Record in the 70-74 yrs men’s 50m butterfly of 33.62, a time which won the Carl Freeman 50m Fly trophy for fastest converted 50m fly time of the meet.

All of the other members of the squad also came away with medals. Stuart Baker swam some impressive times on his way to winning gold medals in the 400, 200 and 100 freestyle, 100 backstroke, and 100 butterfly.  Tara Dudley swam to a silver medal in the 400m freestyle in an impressive time, won the popular 50m freestyle event and also came away with silver in the 100m freestyle and backstroke.  Sam Lander was close to his life time bests to win both backstroke events and come second in the individual medley.  Ian Lang swam to two silvers and two bronze medals in the middle distance freestyle and breaststroke events.  Andy Pratt won bronze in the 50 breaststroke and fly, and silvers in the 100 and 200 freestyle.  Adam Tapp swam to 3rd place in the 50 fly and fourth in both the 200 freestyle and 100 fly events.  Olly White attended only the morning session swimming two events and winning gold in the 50m breaststroke and silver in the 100 freestyle.
