Exmouth Swimming and Life Saving Society open water swimmers supported the Hospiscare One Mile Swim at the weekend.
Five swimmers from the club swam in the Elite race which kicked off the event on Saturday 25th. Tara Dudley, Ian Lang, Christa Page, Jamie Page and Olly White were joined by 400 other swimmers in completing the mile for the Hospiscare charity. Lang came 9th overall in the elite race in a time of 20minutes 51seconds. White was the next Exmouth swimmer in 12th place in a time of 21minutes 44seconds, Dudley was 16th in 22minutes 51seconds, Christa Page was 19th in 23minutes 3seconds and Jamie Page was 20th in 23 minutes 11seconds. The race was won by 1988 Olympian Paul Brew in 18minutes and 37 seconds and the team was also joined by training partner and Exmouth and Kelly College swimmer Cameron Carpenter Warren who swam to 5th place in 20minutes 32seconds.
Tara and Christa were also second and third in the ladies race to cap a successful morning of swimming for the team. |
