Exmouth Swimming and Life Saving Society held its annual Starcross to Exmouth swim on Friday 1st August. 21 swimmers took to the water in the 2 mile tidally assisted swim from Starcross Jetty to Carlton Slipway and Exmouth beach.
Each swimmer was accompanied by a kayak escort for the duration of the swim. Swimmers faced tough conditions with an off shore wind creating rough conditions for the last part of the swim after swimmers had passed the docks. All 21 swimmers successfully completed the swim, some of whom were competing in open water for the first time.
ES&LSS wish to thank all the kayakers, boat crews and officials who made the swim safe and successful.
