East Devon Xmas Cracker 2011 |
|
On Saturday 3 December, Sidmouth Pool hosted the annual Christmas Cracker competition, which is organised by East Devon Swim Squad and has Exmouth, Honiton and Sidmouth Swimming Clubs competing against each other. In recent years a cup has been donated by the Bradnam family in memory of Peter Bradnam, a coach for East Devon Swim Squad and Sidmouth who passed away untimely.
For many swimmers this was their first competition and there were some impressive performances, which bodes well for the future of swimming in East Devon.
This trophy is always hotly contested and this year Sidmouth managed to retain it. The final results were Sidmouth 789, Exmouth 580 and Honiton 189 points.
Special thanks to Marcus Allen and all the pool staff for enabling so many parents to come in and watch, which created a brilliant atmosphere, and for LED to supply some cracking prizes for the Raffle. The many parent helpers made the evening run smoothly. We couldn’t do it without you!
