Exmouth Swimming and Life Saving Society sent a strong masters squad to the Royal Navy Open Meet held at Yeovilton Naval base.
Ross Szender, Adam Tapp, Sam Lander, Richard Lander, Ian Lang, Olly White, Mark Westaway, Bill Letch, Pete Redbourne, Tara Dudley, Kayleigh Vine, Elaine Lewis, Rachael Wasiewicz, and Louise Kathro were the team, coached by masters coach Bob Clarke.
The squad had a strong meet with Tara Dudley (ladies 18-24), Olly White (mens 30-34), and Bill Letch (mens 65-70) winning their age groups. The team were also strong in the men’s 18-24 age group where the team achieved 2nd to 6th place with Richard Lander narrowly missing out on first position.
Exmouth’s relay teams also dominated with the ladies’ 72+ relay team achieving 1st place in the Freestyle and Medley relays. The men’s 72+ relay team also achieved two 1st places with the men’s 160+ relay team achieving a 1st place in the freestyle and a 2nd place in the medley. The team’s dominance in the younger age groups and in the relay events contributed to a strong overall team performance with the men’s team achieving top male team and the team as a whole achieving 3rd place and 2nd visiting team behind the Royal Navy and Wincanton respectively. |
